THE SIMPLE THINGS

I love the charm a flower can add to your home. It's always the simple things in life that seem to bring me the most pleasure.

COULDN'T WAIT TO DECORATE

Christmas is around the corner and I couldn't wait to decorate.
1. Top Photo: My entryway 2. Top photo collage: 1 mercury bowl with left over holiday bulbs 3. Right photo collage: Nicole Sayer Christmas angel 3. Left Photo collage: Small wreath purchased last year from Big Lots.

DELICIOUS DECOR

This year I'm hosting Thanksgiving at my home and instead of putting together an elaborate table setting I took my painted pumpkins and candelsticks and set them in the middle of the table. This is an easy and inexpensive solution.

SPRAYING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT

This year I'm thankful for my bronze spray paint. I have been spraying everything in sight including pumpkins and squash. Don't they look amazing?

TALL TO SMALL, LEFT TO RIGHT

Some designers just "have it." The rest of us need some tricks to bring it all together in a way that's pleasing to the eye. From time to time I like to give you tips that I've learned.  Here's a good one:
TALL TO SMALL
LEFT TO RIGHT
The 2 photos above are examples of this lesson. Look at them closely. You'll notice in the top photo that your eye goes to the pictures, then the console, left to the hurricane and right from there. Isn't that amazing?

SITTING WITH AN ACCENT

Do you have an accent chair in your home? Well, if not, let me suggest one of the following chairs:

1. Risom Side Chair;
2. Ray Eames Molded Plastic Chair;
3. Harry Bertoia Diamond Lounge Chair;
4. Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair.

Add one of these Mid-Century beauties to your home and you'll always have a great conversation piece (not to mention, a great place to sit). These pieces are classic. Actually, I feel sorry for the pre-mid-centurions.  How did they get along without them?

BITE ME

Halloween is approaching wicked fast and Etsy, as always, is just in time with some fabulous homemade goods. The above skull lollipop favors (set of ten) were created by SIMPLE TASTES and the "bite me" banner was created by HOUSE OF CLOUDS
 Frightening budget this Halloween?  Etsy has a lot of great ideas for decor that you and your family can create together.
