Today for Foxy Friday I have found some fashion inspiration for you. Um, do you see me amongst the mix? Okay, today my outfit isn't as inspiring as January Jones above, in her cute high waisted jeans and plaid shirt but, I haven't featured my lovely gray Joes jeans yet. These jeans are so comfy, cute and a spring must-have.

Happy Friday! This week flew by with Monday being a holiday and I love it. Fridays are the best.

So, listen to this. I was just walking to the bathroom and I could hear the elevator doors closing. A young woman goes straight from the elevators to the bathroom and I freeze. Okay, every floor in this building has its own set of bathrooms so why is she using our floor. I had to go so bad but I really don't want to be in there while she drops a bomb - excuse me, let me try to be more lady like - while she moves her bowel. I was a little grossed out by it. So, I held it in for another 30 minutes then went back to the bathroom and whao!: she must have had Indian food. I know, gross, story over.

So, this weekend I'm going to be going to the Body Works exhibit in Phoenix. Have any of you been? I'm pretty excited. I'll have to take pictures. Have a fabulous weekend and come back and see me on Monday.

When traveling around the world, some like the sophisticated feel of Paris while others love the loose attitude in South America. I love both so that's why Living Foxy is visiting Barcelona, Spain today.

Spain's government is almost bankrupt but its cultural heritage is super rich. The city of Barcelona was founded as a Roman city which is represented in its architecture. It's also home to the beautiful Barcelona Pavilion (pictured above), designed by ultra talented Mies van der Rohe.

 Barcelona's fashion is generally very bold and colorful but it has also become very sophisticated (this is Europe, of course). This progression has afforded the city the opportunity to host the very prestigious Bread and Butter fashion fair.

The weather, with average temps from 48 to 82 degrees, also allows for a wide range of outfits (FUN!). And whether you want to get super dressy on a night downtown or relax "euro-style" on a beautiful beach along the Mediterranean, Barcelona is THE place.

Imagine a European style city built on enormous hills that cascade into a big beautiful bay. Now, imagine it's a magical land where you can keep your summer AND winter wardrobes out all year long. As you walk down the street you notice that almost everybody you pass is an independent thinker and dresses the part.  Now, plop that city down in California of all places. If you haven't been to San Francisco yet, go soon. When you take in the progressive style and the feel of the city, you'll forget you're in the U.S., let alone on the West Coast.  A short walk will take you from the Italian Quarter to China Town and then to the Financial District.  I can see why Tony Bennett wrote "I left my heart in San Francisco".

The women have a bohemian charm that transmits independence. The mixing of prints and colors provides an eclectic splendor, one I can't quite describe.

FOXY FRIDAY

If you could dig a hole straight down through the Earth, you might wind up in Singapore.  You might come out feeling a little out of style (not to mention dirty). The island country in Southeast Asia is home to about 5 million people - an amazing 42% of which are foreigners who work and study there.  In other words, it's a melting pot of Eastern style.

1. A blazer is always a nice accessory to any outfit. This blazer becomes less conservative as the red clutch and lipstick pull the red right out of its pattern.

2. Gold is very elegant and visually appealing.  When purchasing handbags, glasses, earrings or belts, look for items with a gold accent.

3. Try adding belts around dresses and blouses. The belt will show off your waist, making you look as thin as you are.

4 Short and squatty?  Not hot.  You can't do anything about being short but squatty, on the other hand, can be cured with high heeled boots and shoes (as can almost any other ailment).  These girls are not known for their height but they can still stand tall in a sea of flats.

Boa tarde from Brazil! Within the last few decades Brazil's economy has gone from one of the weakest to one of the world's top 5.  Having spent some time there, I can say their fashion is top 5, too.  Known for their love for bright colors, the photos above show a more modern and sophisticated side of Brazilian style.

Photo Set 1. Leather never goes out of style and gives your outfit an edgy look. Don't worry about matcing the leather either. Carmel leather can look great with black leather.

2. Floral prints are in. It doesn't matter where you add them to your outfit.  For example, I saw Karla from Karlascloset pairing floral pants with a striped Ralph Lauren quarter tee...basically awesome. 

3. Blazers: they never go out of style and they look great with almost everything.

What language do they speak in Sweden?  A rare dialect called Style.  Living Foxy is visiting Stockholm today. This beautiful city is home to one of America's favorite clothing stores, H&M.  Swedes are all about being at the forefront of design and fashion. Lately, I've spied countless photos of Swedish women wearing skin-tight pants, loose shirts and trendy jackets.

Oh, if you're wondering what language they speak in Sweden: Swedish...duh.

London's cold winters can cause the wonderfully fashion minded residents to think more about function than form. So, the fall season is THE time to choose the latter. Londoners pride themselves on their tailored apparel. The three dapper ladies featured above are in London for Fashion Week. Do you recognize any of them?  One is Olivia Palermo from "The City". I'm really liking this year’s fall fashion trends.  Oh, and those high-heeled boots; I'll take 2, please.

 

FOXY FRIDAY

Foxy Friday is going Parisian. Looking at Paris's "Street Style" gives me a sense of freedom. Is it me or are Parisians (and plenty of other Euros) just more courageous and expressive with their style than anyone else in the world? Is it innate and genetic or is it a product of their social environment?  Or, do I just suffer from "the grass is greener on the other side of the pond" syndrome?

I absolutely adore the bussling streets of Paris. The smell of fresh baked bread in the morning - mmmm. You can walk down the narrow streets day and night and hear the sound of scooters echoing off of the buildings. The tagged cars, street signs and buildings remind you of the density of the populous but also add to the city's charm.  And, next time you're there, pay close attention to the shoes - both men's and women's - and you'll wish for a more favorable exchange rate.
