MANIC MONDAY

Shirt and pants-Gap, Shoes and belt-H&M, Purse-Frenchi

Today is a Manic Monday for me. Why? Because my sinuses are killing me. I've heard that people move to Arizona to improve there sinuses but, for me, they get worse every year. Don't worry though, because my friend Sudafed is going to fight this for me and he's an amazing fighter.
Today, I'm was feeling 70's. Actually, I just wanted to be comfortable so I wore jeans to work. I'm really digging the high waisted bell bottoms. Low waisted jeans have been a constant consumption  of mine for the last few years and I liked them but thanks to the high waist I no longer have to pull my shirt down in the back when I bend down!
I hope all of you had a fabuloso ( a word used frequently by Handy Manny) weekend. Catch ya later skaters...sorry, I'm corny.

FUNNY FACE

Shirt-Gap, Pants-Elizabeth & James, Belt-Anthropologie, Necklace-Vintage, Glasses-Last Chance, Shoes-Nine West, Purse-Carlos, Earrings-Banana Republic, Nails-Shellac

Audrey Hepburn inspired todays outfit. The great thing about fashion is it has a way of repeating itself. I continually look at old magazines and books for inspiration.
You'll have to forgive me for not posting yesterday. I was too busy enjoying my pajama party. I ordered pizza, drank Italian sodas and watched Funny Girl...so much fun!

THANKS FOR THE SWEATER

Twas the week of Thanksgiving and all through the house, not a sweater to find nor a warm blouse.
The catalogs came in with Madewell on top with sweaters galore but no time to shop.
So I opened my laptop, entered their URL; took out the debit card and thought, what the H#%%!
Number 1 above, a chunky-patterned knit sweater, for warmth AND style it doesn't get much better.
In photo 2 you'll see winter doesn't mean "big", a long cardigan and belt make you look like a twig.
And that tan you've worked on all summer, here are sweaters with shorts for legs not ready to cover.
Number 3, you can wear it over pajamas by the fire, or out to dinner where all will admire.
And the well designed pullover in photo number 4, okay that's enough, I shouldn't spend any more!
This morning I had nothing that was winter-esque, now I'm all set without leaving my desk.

BELT YOURSELF

I've seen JCrew adding a thin belt to almost everything for the last couple of years but, until this year, I haven't been daring enough to try it. The thin belt is a quick and easy way to add an accessory but, even better, it sucks in the waistline. Also, there's usually enough clothes underneath to hide some of the "details" that are painfully clear in a normal pants and belt combo.

FOXY FRIDAY

Boa tarde from Brazil! Within the last few decades Brazil's economy has gone from one of the weakest to one of the world's top 5.  Having spent some time there, I can say their fashion is top 5, too.  Known for their love for bright colors, the photos above show a more modern and sophisticated side of Brazilian style.

Photo Set 1. Leather never goes out of style and gives your outfit an edgy look. Don't worry about matcing the leather either. Carmel leather can look great with black leather.
2. Floral prints are in. It doesn't matter where you add them to your outfit.  For example, I saw Karla from Karlascloset pairing floral pants with a striped Ralph Lauren quarter tee...basically awesome.
3. Blazers: they never go out of style and they look great with almost everything.

FOXY FRIDAY

What language do they speak in Sweden?  A rare dialect called Style.  Living Foxy is visiting Stockholm today. This beautiful city is home to one of America's favorite clothing stores, H&M.  Swedes are all about being at the forefront of design and fashion. Lately, I've spied countless photos of Swedish women wearing skin-tight pants, loose shirts and trendy jackets.
Oh, if you're wondering what language they speak in Sweden: Swedish...duh.

TWO FABULOUS FURS

I have TWO fur stoles I can't wait to wear! I bought one at H&M last year and then inherited another.  TWO more weeks and I think I can justify wearing them.  If you would like one too, you can find them at the following stores.

If you like the dress in the top photo, I found it at Modcloth. It's definitely a look worth recreating.

FOXY FRIDAY

London's cold winters can cause the wonderfully fashion minded residents to think more about function than form. So, the fall season is THE time to choose the latter. Londoners pride themselves on their tailored apparel. The three dapper ladies featured above are in London for Fashion Week. Do you recognize any of them?  One is Olivia Palermo from "The City". I'm really liking this year’s fall fashion trends.  Oh, and those high-heeled boots; I'll take 2, please.

Lose 10 lbs. in 3 Seconds - Or, At Least, Look Like It

Ever since the invention of carbs, women have been trying to look a little slimmer than they naturally are. My Grandma rarely left the house without her girdle. But the girdle is as old school as it sounds. So where does the modern woman turn for a more comfortable way to "hold it all together?"  Well, Spanx, of course.  While the name is step in the wrong direction (spanx a lot!), the shape and material are giant leaps for
(wo)mankind.  Everybody's wearing them, from celebrities to housewives. If you're not yet a convert, you'll be surprised how Spanx will instantly transform your shape and show off those curves.

HATE LONG LINES? Take a "cue" from the Brits.

Mad Men has bolstered our love for 1960's fashion. Designers are adding longer hem lines, higher waistlines and raised necklines to their dresses.  This year VougueUK has featured these slyly sexy dresses.

CLOTHES

Though famous for underwear, Victoria's Secret has some excellent outerwear for the fall season. I think the sequined jacket is a great fall choice. After all, who couldn't use a little more wardrobe bling!
