Sweater Balls

This year my Mother and I decided to reserve one Christmas tree for all homemade ornaments. This sweater ball was one of my ideas.

Time needed: 5-7 minutes per ball
Supplies needed: old sweater, scissors, glue gun, paperclips, foam balls and thread

1. Find an old sweater. I bought mine for $5.00 at Deseret Industries.

2. Put your foam ball on the sweater and cut out enough to cover the ball.

3. Pull the sweater tight around the ball and glue (hot glue) the ends of the sweater where they meet. I now have a nice blister on my finger that is reminding me to tell you to be careful around the glue gun. After the glue dries, cut the excess sweater off. If there are little gaps put a little glue in between them or hand sew them. I tried both and I think the hand sewn seams look better.

4. Stick a paper clip down in the ball and attach the thread.

5. Tada!! You're finished.

This is such a cute idea! Remind me about it for next year.
